Change Management Intensive

As a LabOps leader, you’re in a unique position to lead change—even if you’re not “in charge.” You work at the intersection of science, people, process, and policy, giving you a powerful vantage point.

You may not always have formal authority, but with the right mindset, tools, and communication skills, you can drive meaningful change—upward, across, and within your lab.

This workshop will equip you to lead strategically and collaboratively, no matter your title.

Three Keys to Leading Change in LabOps
1. Shift the Narrative: From “Implementer” to “Influencer”
2. Communicate Strategically: Clarity, Curiosity, and Credibility
3. Influence Without Authority: Manage Upward & Across

Limited to 25 participants

Cost: $1500

Details about this course

Shift the Narrative:

You’re often tasked with making things work—even when you weren’t part of the early decisions. This workshop will help you reframe your role, recognizing your ability to influence strategy and shape outcomes. You have more power than you think—and we’ll show you how to use it.

Key Models & Tools:

• Ladder of Inference – Recognize assumptions and shift unproductive narratives
• Head Up / Down / Out – Operate strategically & tactically at the right time
• Influence = Persuasion / Resistance – Triad Consulting's equation to understand
how influence really works
• Story Reframe Tool – Ask “What else could be true?” to create new possibilities

Communicate Strategically: Clarity, Curiosity, and Credibility

Your ability to influence depends on the relationships you build—and relationships grow through effective communication. In lab environments, communication often defaults to tasks and compliance. In this session, you’ll build the skills for clear, credible, and curiosity-driven dialogue that fosters alignment and lowers resistance.

Key Models & Tools:

• Curious Questions Protocol – Engage prefrontal thinking and reduce threat
• Strategic Message Planner – Match message with audience priorities
• Interest vs. Position Mapping – Navigate what people say vs. why they say it
• Audience Lens – Adapt your approach to different stakeholder styles

Influence Without Authority: Manage Upward & Across:

As a LabOps leader, you’re expected to influence upward, across, and beyond your formal role. In this session, you’ll learn how to lead through trust, insight, and strategic positioning—without needing formal authority.

Key Models & Tools:

• SCARF Model – Navigate social-emotional triggers that fuel resistance
• Influence Without Authority Grid – Map relationships and opportunities
• Control / Influence / Let Go Matrix – Focus energy where it matters
• Relational Diplomacy – Influence like a diplomat, not a dictator
